Long Range Challenge Overview:

Welcome back to LRC at Peacemaker for 2018!

The LRC is by far Peacemaker’s most successful match and sells out every month. The match is simple: 5 Stages of precision rifle, shot from the prone position. Each stage has 5 targets with up to 3 attempts at each target. Distance to all targets will be given and they will be clearly numbered. Shooters are asked to help spot and keep score as this is more of a formal practice than a match. We will have as many as 5 shooters on the line at each stage at a time and take turns engaging targets in order. Calibers are limited to .30 magnum with a velocity limit on all cartridges of 3100 FPS. Your ammo may be subject to speed test.

Match Schedule:

Check in is open from 8:00-8:45AM the morning of at the PNTC headquarters building. The mandatory safety & match briefing will begin promptly at 9:00 AM at the Frontier Range. Match will begin immediately following the briefing. The match is generally finished by 4 PM.

Scoring:

Shooters will act as score keepers and spotters to track hits and misses for each of the 5 stages. Shooters have 3 attempts to hit each target; all attempts are noted on the sheet. At the end of the match, shooters will receive a bonus hit for every 10 first-round hits they accumulate. Final score will be ranked in order of hits, first-round hits and misses. A perfect score would be 27, 25, 0.

Facility-wide, Critical Match Safety Guidelines:

Please keep your firearm(s) unloaded and cased upon arrival to our ranges and do not handle them at your vehicle.  Once you reach a designated safe area, firearms can be uncased and a chamber flag inserted.  If you are in need of a chamber flag, they are available at PNTC HQ. For handguns, please keep your magazine out and the slide locked back while leaving it in the safe area.  If you plan to keep your handgun holstered during a match, it needs to be free of ammunition and magazine until directed by a PNTC Range Officer.  Safe areas are to be kept free of ammunition at all times.  Firearms are not to be loaded until the shooter is on the firing line or under the direction of a PNTC Range Officer.

Again, DO NOT handle firearms at your vehicles.  Use the “Safe Areas” to case and uncase and/or repair firearms.

No bi-metal, armor piercing, incendiary or tracer rounds allowed. If a magnet sticks to a projectile, it cannot be used.

Failure to abide by these rules will result in a match disqualification.
